Quick question about deflooding
Quick question about deflooding
Ive been trying to deflood my my engine for days. today i was cranking it(6-10 seconds) with the pedal all the way down over and over and I want to know if that is bad for the alternator because i hear some kind of clicking.
There's a method in the owners' manual and a method in the DIY section. Have you checked those? I can't remember it from waaayyy back when I read through the book, but I don't think just cranking it is the solution. You're probably destroying the starter.
have you tried push starting it? I did and it worked for me once. A different time it didnt, but I got a buddy of mine with a truck to pull start me and it worked. Just put the tow hook on and strap on and have someone pull u to about 20 mph... (I believe) and dump the clutch then. That method should work just fine.
If you are still under warranty, call roadside and have them deflood it at the dealer.
There is also the fuse removal method, but that didnt work for me... so I dont know about that. My best advice is the pull start method.
G'luck!
EDIT: just realized from your sig you are AT? hmm....
