Quick Question???
Does anyone know if grade 000 of steel wool will work the same as 0000? In this thread below he used 0000 but I have 000 sittin around, can I use it or will it scratch my tips?

I'm not saying you should but from what I found online I would do it but test it in a small, hard to see area first.
This is what I found about the grades of steel wool, they seem to refer to prepping wood and not metal though.
"No. 0000 & 000 - For fine finishing, dulling gloss finishes, varnish abrasion between coats, cabinet work etc.
No. 00 & 0 - For use instead of fine sandpaper, preparation work prior to varnishing and general cleaning.
No. 1 & 2 - For general purpose work, cleaning of copper pipe and fittings, paint removal and preparation.
No. 3 - For removing rust, paint, varnish etc.
No. 4 & 5 - For removing rust, rubbing parquetry, preparation of rough surfaces and all coarse work."

Ok, I got the tips looking great. I am glad that I found the thread 416to212 started...Thanks bro...big help, my tips were in rough shape. Here is the finished result...
