Arrow Questions - a little help please?

This is my first time posting.
1) I would like to know if any one has had any major problems with the '05 RX8s?
I am looking to buy an '05 RX8 - Grand Touring with spolier.
I would like to get Silver w/ Red & Black leather interior.
I would like to keep the price at around $30K out the door.
2) Are there any incentives or rebates on the '05 RX8 ?
3) Should I include any other extras?
4) How much oil does the engine use? and does the oil use increase as the car gets older?
Thanks for any help!!

1). I have had absolutely no problems other than minor break squeal. I'm currently at 7526 miles.
I have everything but Navi and I paid around 30K out the door.

2).No incentives that I know of on the '05's. Maybe when the '06 models arrive.

3).Navi or maybe sunroof but that's your call. You lose a little head room with the sunroof.

4).I've only put a little over 3/4 of a quart since I bought it (this will vary with driving conditions i.e. city/hwy etc). But I change oil every 2500 miles.

if there are any incentives, they're usually posted on their website.

If you buy a silver it will be destroyed, they have the worst accident record of any color.

That may be true.

If you want to be an "eX-man", buy a Blue 8 :p

The rotary is designed to use some oil. Just check it every 3-4 fillups. Keep a quart in a plastic zipper bag in the trunk.

Red Leather looks great.

Be warned .... the Silver is Cursed ... do a search ...

Whatever color you select you will soon be addicted and a member of the Cult! :p

If you're tall, and you plan on getting a sunroof, then make sure that you test drive one with a sunroof. The sunroof reduces your headroom by about 1.5".

Mine is in the shop for the 2nd time after having it for 3 weeks. I'm sure this is just my car and not an epidemic though. Engine makes a loud "fluttering" noise at 6k rpms and loses the ability to go faster.

i'm coming up on 22k miles on my '04. only problem with it was one of the visors broke, and that was before i got the car. i guess i have a little bit of brake squeal, but it doesn't bother me.

mazda rates the oil consumption at 1qt per 10k miles. i'd call that a little over optimistic. for me its closer to 1qt per 3k miles.

as for other options, i like the strakes, the rotary accents, and the exhaust finishers.

Yeah, mine has a 13k on it and it has a break squeal, which is slowly getting worse. It's a minor squeal now, but those noises sometimes get annoying in stop and go conditions. I'm takin it in tomorrow, I'll let ya know if they find something causing it that's under warranty. That's the only true problem though. I'm lovin' it besides that.

There is a leasing rebate of $2000. Even if you plan on buying the car this can make a lot of sense. The acquisition costs of the lease are ~$450 so you still end up with a net $1500 off the price of the car. The interest rates on the lease are also pretty low. I was going to buy mine outright (cash purchase) but I can make slightly more on a CD after taxes than the cost of the lease money. So, if something bad happens to the car (troubles but not officially a lemon or whatever) or my needs change enough then I still have a way out after two years. If not, I'll just pay the lease buyout amount and own the car.

You can also add in the $500 Gerber rebate too.
