Question on rpms??

Is it bad to keep your car in at 5000 - 7000 rpms a good portion of your driving? =) Cause when i really want some speed from the suker it seems i get the best results at these rpms.

what rpms do you guys drive in?

The only downside would be your gas mileage. Other than that, and the fact that overall things will in general wear faster if you use them harder, there's nothing "bad" about it.

I have gone on trips where I've sustained over 7000 rpms for some extended periods of time with no ill effect other than some especially bad mileage numbers.

This engine is good at revving and doesn't suffer from the same kinds of high-rpm issues as a piston engine can (such as valve float or things of that nature) - it's also very well balanced so it's quite easy to use it at those higher rpm ranges. Fun too.

Simon.

at 6000 rpm, the rotor itself is only turning at 2000 rpm. The only thing turning 6000 is the SHAFT.
