From what I've been able to gather, the XM reception is better. If I look at my sirius cross-eyes, it loses the signal; my XM friends report no such problems.

That is true for Seattle and adjoining areas.

I've had both Sirius and XM and I get betetr signal with XM. Sirius has 2 repeaters for the entire seattle area. XM has more than 10!

I have both.
Sirius in 2 cars (RX8 & 4Runner) and XM (Honda Valkyrie) and prefer XM - Channel 49.
4 things will keep me subscribed to satellite radio for a long long time....
1) I like to be able to pick genres of music and entertainment,
2) I do not buy any more CD's
3) No more f-----g commercials !!!
4) Crystal clear sound (Always hardwire equipment)

Well, before I moved to the Seattle area, I observed the same disparity back in Boston. And I had the same reception problems visiting my parents in New Jersey.

XM is now surpassed by sirius and XM seems to be making mistake after mistake - they have also restorted to weak tactics by attacking howard stern etc etc - this sucks b/c he was originally not bad mouthing them at all - they are all sat - anyway - eventually I think sirius will buy XM - the other day the head sirius d00d was interviewed and when asked about buying XM - he said "how much...?" - a combination would be awesome - u should listen to both before making your decision - I did and liked sirius better but it is a preference thing.

I don't really understand fanboys. How can 1 get heated over the other. Sirius and XM both provide fairly similar programming and the only real difference is maybe Howard Stern and the sports channels. I personally have used BOTH and get better reception with XM. Its not a personal choice, its just that XM works better because they have more terrestrial receivers in all major markets and thats a fact and while Sirius is gaining ground XM still leads them in subscriber base (want me to post proof?)

Stop whining about one being better than the other, just use whatever your prefer (and for all those wondering why I'm being so bitchy, I posted a few times on a Sirius fanpage and those guys are such major fanboys over there its not even funny)

Sirius OEM...
It's OK.
I wish it had a small hard drive or a 1 GB SD card so I could rewind a song or news I'd like to hear again..
Kind of like a TiVo or DVR...

If I had to choose, I'd rather have XM. I like baseball better than football.

to each their own. I'd suggest the free trials online w/both sirius and xm to determine which you like better and then go that route. I love the no commercials and variety of music that i don't get on the air here in indiana.

baseball is also a 162 and a much longer season. Most Football games are on Sunday or on Primtetime and they arent that many to begin with.

Xm makes a lot of sense for out-of-state MLB fans too.
