6'6''- 260lbs- I am a big person- When testing the 8 for comfort, the only option, I felt I wanted to option out off, was the sun roof. Getting in and out of the vehicle is easy, and it's a pleasure to take on long trips. It is the most comfortable sports car I have owned, (Corvette, Porsche, Alfa, Audi).

6' 6", and very comfortable! I think the headroom is overrated anyways.. Has anyone heard of extra comfort because you have 2" clearance rather than 1"?? :-)

Oh, the reason I was asking is because there's not many Mazda dealers around boston, and I'm only 17, just got my license, so I don't have any serious means of getting an '8, It was more just for curiosity because I was driving by one the other day and it looked awfully small. Besides, I'm not ready for a brand new car with such little experience (or such little funds ^^).

6'1", I use the roof of the 8 to measure when I need a haircut. And I've found more than one driving position (different styles) that I can fit into (Laid back, agressive on the wheel, etc).
It does bug me that my knees bump my (pardon the rhyme) keys. But I live with it.

I am 5'11". Depending on how I sit, my hair is sometimes touching the ceiling (I have very short hair) or my head is touching the #@$@# ceiling. When I hit sharp bumps, my head sometimes hits the ceiling. Oh, and forget about putting a helmet on in this car if you bring it to the track. Othewise, it is a fine car.

obviously how you sit will change things, i always use this methode when getting in a car :
to adjust how close or far away to slide the seat : push the gas and clutch all the way down, your knees should be bent just slightly.
to adjust the seat back up or down : put the inside of your wrists sitting on the wheel at the '10 and 2' position. and sit all the way back in the seat so your back and sholders are touching the seatback.
to adjust the steering-wheel up and down, when you have the seat bottom and seat back where you want them, look at the gauges (in the 8 look at the tach) now bring the steering wheel down till the bottom of the top of the steering-wheel is just touching the top of where the tach is.
example
is the = i s the steering wheel you want it to just meet the tach so you can still see everything.

i find this is not only the most comfotable position to cruise around it, also puts everything right in reach of the driver and keeps you in a position for good visibilty and car control.
of course differnt strokes for different folks

Yeah, what i find is that i, 6'4" fit fine, but my friend who is 6'3" doesn't, so it all about how you sit in the car, so what i find comfortable is also space saving.

I'm 6'0" and have plenty of room with the sunroof. My brother is 6'5" and fit pretty well. He used to own an 81 RX-7 and his first comment driving the 8 was "wow, they really improved the room on this".

I'm 6'5" and have the sunroof... I fit fine with the seat all the way down and tilted at a fairly large angle (i have long arms)... If you are tall, consider this car a 3 seater, because no one will ever fit behind you. I've had my car about 18 months and still no one has ever sat behind me... oh well... i bought the car for me, not to cart around my friends...

Im 6'1 with a sunroof and fit no problem. That being said my backseat has 1 effective seat (nobody in their right mind would sit behind me)
my chair is as low as it goes, and almost as far back as it goes, and i drive with my chair more reclined than normal.

I'm 6'2", and I cannot wear a helmet in the car (it has a sunroof). Not really a problem, since it's my wife's car, and I have a perfectly good performance car in which I do fit wearing a helmet :D , but it's worth considering if you're buying the car for yourself.
Also, of course, don't discount the allure of performance driving once you see how much fun the car is to drive; just because you aren't buying the car to autocross it, or drive it on the track, doesn't mean that you won't use if for just that purpose.

I'm about 6'3" and fit just fine with a sunroof...not sure I'd fit with a racing helmet...I have really long arms so my seat is typically angled back more for that rather than the height issue...I'd ay I have an inch or two of space between my head and the roof. Really depends on torso length vs. leg length and how you like your seat back to be angled. I have the seat pretty far back but could go back a little bit...

5'11", long legs, I fit fine. Have driven 6 hours continously (besides gas stop) and felt fine. I've had mine sound insulated and that helps keep the fatigue down.
