Gonna purchase an RX8 soon, have a question about the Sand interior. Do ALL Sand interiors include the Alcantara insterts? I saw an RX8 at the dealer but Sand leather looked different than the pics I have seen. It didn't appear to have that suede looking stuff in the middle. Though it looked really nice.

 

i have no idea but the 05 and 06 shinka have different upholstery. BTW you posted this same exact thing in my thread.

 

I saw a sand interior on an 07 this morning when I dropped my car off for service. No Alcantara inserts. The sand colour looks very very sharp...only the seats and door panel inserts are sand. Niiiiiiiiiice.

 

Thanks, that's what I thought, there is an option for sand without Alcantara. I think Brilliant Black with sand interior would look sweet. Im not so sure I like the look of the Alcantara inserts.

i am almost positve but woulld have to double check but the 06 shinka had the sand w/ alacantra inserts and for 07 this option is now available on all rx8,s includind a sand interior without the insertts

 

My 06 copper red shinka has sand suede/leather seats...Alcantara inserts whatever its called. its nice just wonder if the suede stays that way.

 

I have had alcantara in other cars (bright blue alcantara in my Nogaro Blue S4), and it was simple to maintain, wore well, and gripped much better than my second S4 which had full black leather. I have an O6 GG shinka and its great, but I definitely don't eat or drink in the car. One ugly coffe spill and you would be in trouble for sure.

The sand in full smooth leather looks pretty good too in my opinion.

The 07 sand interior is similar or the same as the 05 Shinka so all tan interior with tan door inserts. The shinka's for 06 are the same as the sand for 07 except they have Alcantara and sand leather.

 

I have brilliant black with sand interior ... I dunno, I wish I had just black or black/red leather.

 

I like the sand interior.

I probably would have gone with Sand if I had found one with the options I wanted. For some reason I like that look. But I am happy with black on black.
