Question about rough starting

how ya doin' fellas, lately when i try and start my car it doesn't start up on the first crank like it used to. It was no joke like a jet. So i went to the dealer and they said it was probably the spark plugs so they replaced them, and the car still doesn't start properly. I even asked them to check the battery, and they said it was fine. Should I convince them to give me a new battery? Any advice? i did all the searches and everything.

when u say first crank, how long do u crank it ?

dont expect your car to start in 1 second u know.

if they gave u new plugs I guess they already did the Engine No Start TSB. rite ?

need more info u know.

On first start, my car catches after about 2 seconds of cranking. When it is half-cooled off, it's a LONG crank - 5-6 seconds. When it is fully warm, about 1 second of cranking.

My 8 never takes longer than a second to start regardless of engine temperature.

My car always starts no problem (knock on wood) however, once in a while it takes long cranking too. My longest crank is about 3 ~ 4 seconds, & that already felt really scary. 5 ~ 6 is serious ...

Yeah they did the TSB, and when I say long crank it takes about 4 seconds, no joke when i first bought the car it took about 1 1/2 seconds, it was unbelievable.

Really watch the battery - there are so many bells and whistles that take juice that if you still have the factory original you might want to see if they have a free recall updated more powerful one, or go for something even better - Lots of extra amps cold crank amps will not hurt the car and they give you backup when the weather gets bad. I think that a better battery also improves milage.
