Top Speed and Spec Questions
About how solid are these numbers? I already know the HP numbers are bhp, not whp. I'm talking top speed and quarter mile?

Also, what are some things that are known to be wrong w/ 2004 model RX-8's? I hear people say they have "kinks".

I certainly don't know from personal experience.... I've never tried anything above 110 in the 8.

Yah. Doing 150 would be ill concieved, considering your probably hitting redline w/ the stock setup and tune. I looked at vids on streetfire and didn't come up w/ much, besides RX-8's getting owned. And one guy hitting 130 mph.... so i was just wondering.
As far as problems w/ RX-8's? What are they? I have found that almost any Mazda car has some kind of "kink" that can drive them crazy.
Like for example the 03.5 Mazdaspeed Protege: 1) their swaybars clunk so people remove them or fabricate brackets w/ newer adj. endlinks 2)their plastic turbo pipes goin to crap and leave people stranded 3)plastic vaccuum hoses need to be replaced w/ silicon 4) along w/ a good ground kit

I think 150 is perfectly reachable in a stock car. I've hit 143-144 in mine twice. I dont belive you would get much farther than 148-152 but i do think you can hit 150 with enough road. after 120ish it start to get sluggish, after 130-135 it comes to a crawl. but i still had just a little left at 143

I'm no expert, but I hit 150 in my 98 Volvo S70 T5- 5 speed. It was 236 HP and a .32 drag coefficient. The RX8 has similar HP and a .31 drag coefficient. The Volvo's top end was 155. Same in my S80 T6. (both times on a 4 mile banked oval track mind you) So, I would assume the RX8 should be around the same 150-155 drag limited top end.
