Question about 05 GT Rx8 -- Is this a fair price

Just got back from a couple dealers. The best price I got was 29,779 Pearl White GT package (b/f taxes, title etc). Is this a good price? I'm having a hard time determining what's a fair value. The salesperson said he could negotiate anything more than that? Do you think I should keep looking? Oh yeah, it also included the rotary package but that's only like 120 bucks.

Thanks for your input.

Just picked mine up, 05 GT 6MT for $29,763 (-TTT) but it was Silver. The pearl is additional. You didn't say if it was a 6MT or AT. I thought I did well on mine. My drive out was $31,887. I wouldn't have paid them for the Rotary package if it had been included. I have seen some GT that do not have a Sunroof, does the one you are looking have one?

Unless you have the S-Plan you aren't doing much better than that I don't think. That seems to be very close to invoice if not right at invoice.

it's a 6 sp manual and has a sunroof but no spoiler or gps. i think the dealer said it was 200 over invoice. yeah the color adds 200 bucks too. i'm going to look at some other dealers tomorrow to see if i can get anything better. so all in all this deal seems to be ok with you guys? is it realistic to hope for a deal under invoice or am i dreaming and go for what i got.

Though it sounds kind of simple.. one thing you could do.. would be to check out Carsdirect.com and similar sites.. build the exact model you saw.. and see what they can get you.

You can buy it online, and they find the nearest dealer to ship it to.. but the point is you can find out what they can get it for you with thier 'entire US stock' vs your dealers... then bring a printout to the dealer.. 9 times out of 10 they will match it... hell if they were matching it for me.. i'd tell em to throw 'something' in to seal the deal... tire kit.. a few oil changes etc...

Good luck!

That is the same car as mine except for the paint. I don't think you will get a better price. I'd start worrying about the financing now.

You would get ripped if you bought this one. I got my 04 AT RX8 for 32,000 taxes and everything. Brand new off the showroom floor. Velcotiy Red. DVD NAV, Heated Seats, Auto Dim Mirror, Bose Stereo system, "NO" Aero or Rotary Package.

You should be able to get that RX8 you described for $29,000 after taxes and all that other stuff. DVD NAV is a $2,000 option. I got them from the asking $34,000 price to $30,000.

So you decide if they are trying to rip you off or not.

You got a good price. Diabolical is right though...you can definitley do a little more bargaining with them to see if you can get a spoiler or something included. I didn't pay for my GT package. That was my deal I got. You can prolly get the same deal. I drove off the lot at $31,895. Good luck!

Dang, didn't catch this one. I'm tired. So you bought one. Great color selection man. Have fun driving it. I put 200 miles on mine the first day because I was so stoked. You got a good deal on it too! Good stuff. Take care, man. Oh yeah, you're officially a RX-8 member now

you guys got pretty good deals for 2005's. in my area, this is right at invoice. i shopped around and $28700 was the best i found for the 6 sp manual gt + white pearl (additional $200). i guess it's over and done but either way i love this car.
