The Judge and prosecuting attorney have PHD's in BS and will sniff it out before you finish your first sentence. Yes, lawyers are expensive. So is paying a ticket. Get a lawyer to get it off your record and to prove to your GF and her parents that you weren't risking the life of their daughter. You want to keep seeing her don't you.

Cops in NY needs to write every single ticket they can find these days ---- our great Mayor Bloomberg said so.

They don't call this a "Quota" system, they call this "performance rating."

what does that mean? that means if you're not writing tickets, you are NOT doing your job.

rofl.

So I totally understand why the cop being an *** about it. Honestly speaking everybody speeds once in a while, and 55 in a 40 zone is NOT fast. Sure you did "break" the law but is it really worth the yelling and bullshitting ? I got a bullshit speeding ticket 2 yrs ago. I posted it here. some ppl said I speed so Im wrong, right. I was, I never said I wasn't, but if anybody know where I got the ticket from they WILL know that everybody drives WAY above speed limit there and that fuxking NYPD gave me the ticket simply because he needs to meet a quota.

So yea you can just go fight it, that retarded *** probably had a bad day or haven't meet his quota ... err performance rating so yeah fight it.

I've been pulled over by a cop in AZ for doing "65 in a 30". Honestly, i was going maybe 40/45 tops, and the street that i was on, drove by it later, was 35. Fought the ticket, cop showed up, she said that she was doing 60 in her cop car and i was still pulling away, told the judge that i have a digital readout on my car and was nowhere near that number. The judge threw it out because the cop didn't laser gun me and couldn't prove that i was doing anything close to those number just because she was supposedly doing 60 to try to catch me.

I was going through one of those one horse towns in South Texas with two stop lights.

I'm stopped at the first one (not enough cars to need a light), and sense that I'll have to stop at the next one, too.

So I accelerate up to about 40mph (30 mph speed limit), the edge of town is about one or two blocks past the 2nd light, and I could maybe see 3 cars in the whole town out of my peripheral vision.

So I get about 1 mile out of town, and notice the lights coming at about 100mph.

He wants to see my insurance in which I neglected to put in the new card, but that's ok (he can sense that I really have insurance on such a nice car).

"What I stopped you for is you were speeding through town!"

"Wow, really?, I don't know, but I didn't mean to."

"I didn't get you on radar to prove it so just drive carefully now."

"Ok, thanks! I will."

I mean come on, he had to not be that close to observe any excessive movement on my part.

I think that the 2 lights are timed on purpose that no one can slip through the next one without speeding (it was quite yellow), so he can sit in Dairy Queen with his coffee watching.

Man that's what we used to call, "The Life of Riley."

Is that what you said to the emergency vehicle you didn't yield to?

Bite the bullet and hire a lawyer. And have him coach you on how to behave in court.

15 over the speed limit in a residential area and taking corners to quickly (thats what you admit according to the officer you were going faster)

.... with bunch of tickets already on your record.

Yet you are not a reckless driver............... o ok

What a dipshit, why don't you just take responsibility for your actions and grow up and be a man about it instead of whining like a little bitch. Pay the ticket, move on, and learn from it.

I should try to use those excuses to get off a traffic ticket. If it didn't work, i'll blame it on you and you will owe me a traffic ticket fine

Exactly. And if you do speed and get pulled over, take it like a man. Don't whimper that it was somehow the cop's fault.

cops in traffic

I've only had my 8 for around 8 months and maybe I'm just paranoid, but have any of you experienced the following? It seems like many times when a local cop is behind me, they feel compelled to come into my lane and tailgate for awhile. I feel like they are just being a-holes. I'm 43, so it's not like I'm a teenager street racing.

Maybe I'm crazy, but it just seems odd...

Faling to yield to an emergency vehicle deserves a beating. Lights and Sirens are not just for amusement. They mean get the **** out of the way someone is in trouble. You could have been risking someones life by keeping emergency crews away from doing the intended job. For that you deserve no sympathy.

Now several people have asked, but what is your gfs take on the situation? Does she think you were driving a little to risky?

I sometimes really like those cops when they doing 80mph in a 40mph just trying to catch up and write you a ticket for not stopping completely at a stop sign 3 in the morning.

^ They think they are above the law. Nobody is above the law including the President. They should be subject to be like us, other cops stopping other cops for speeding or something.

How about the cops that turn their sirens on just to beat the light to the Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts at the other street? Then they have the nerve to park at a hydrant. Being a New Yorker, I see it happen weekly at the very least. I have thought about recording them whenever I see it and sending the video to the news stations.
