There are no problems with aftermarket turbos. There are problems with WHICH turbo you pick, what external peices you use in conjunction with the said turbo, and how it is tuned.

GT35R for the pwn. I just need a bunch of money, and a real standalone.

Lets see here...

Item - Cost/hp = $/hp
======================
catback, $600/5 = $120
intake, $320/3 = $106
greddy turbo, $6000/100 = $60
PTP turbo, $9000/160 = $56

Of course, your numbers may vary depending on tuning, and how much you get the parts for. I'm under 5k for my greddy installed with all the extra bits (boost controller, gauges, etc) and I bet I can get 120 hp out of it = $42/hp.

ZEX wet kit (kit and all the extras), $1k/50-70 = $15 - $20

Thanks. So you are saying you have about 358 HP wit all the mods above? This should rival the PTP turbo at a fraction of price??????

Im no expert but $9,000 on the renesis? You end up in the mid 13s? Then what? Why not get a 20b and then build from there... Seems like there would much more room for growth!!!!!

Last time I checked, 20b swaps were going for about $40k+

What makes you think running a turbo on a NA car will be easier on your engine?

Well, you also have to factor in the cost of the refills...
Plus, I'd not feel very safe knowing that the bottle can explode... I vividly remember of some pictures I saw a while ago where the bottle heater was left on or something and the resulting detonation opened up even the garage door, let alone the car it was installed in

ummm, nitrous cant explode. It's just extra oxygen for the combustion cycle.

Jesus.

I can't even be sure about what kind of car that is... Is that an early-90's Maxima? Looks like that from the doors...

Where did you hear that? Any actual track times or just g-tech? The greddy turbo has clocked a 13.1 sec time in the quarter.
