Proud Parent of a brand new CEL

Just backed the RX-8 out of the garage and got a brand new CEL. Cigars all round.

Car running well - occasional hard starts and one flooding about 1500 miles ago. About 2800 miles on "Blue"

Made an appt for next week - wish me luck.

Congrats! I myself delivered a bouncing baby P2402 fault code when pulling out of the garage last weekend. The upside is the baby shower that the dealer threw for me- I got a new airbag wiring harness, a clean air filter, a new 'L' calibration reflash and a detailed RX8. Cheers!

G8rboy:

Congrats all round - who wants a boy or girl when a P2402 is just there for the delivering.

Any differences with the reflash in your parental opinion ?

Too soon to be sure (driven only about 100 miles so far), but mileage seems better, power seems even more linear all the way through redline - something I didn't think was possible. I haven't been able to romp on her yet enough to judge power differences... but so far it feels great.

Be sure to regularly clean the black gunk off the exhaust tip.

I've got you beat. Mine threw a CEL at 198 miles on the odo. Needless to say I was concerned. Dealer had to replace my catalyitic converter. Runs fine now.
