Just a quick questions, anyone know the price of a new set of keys and transmitter from mazda for the 2004 model year?

Key, $35, transmitter/keyfob, $120 you can grab a 2005 "switchblade" key and keyfob for about $160.

Pick up a remote for a few bucks on eBay and program it according to the instructions in the DIY section. Might also find the key blank there as well.

Well, if that's your only set, ya better go ahead and get another set.

 

I just priced the 05 key and key fob at my local dealership.. WOW, what a rip off. They wanted over $180 for the key blank and the Fob.

These shouldn't cost so much, its a key and remote.. I guess I'll start looking at ebay somemore. Rosenthal has the set for... here is the link

My 06 transmitter keys are over $600 EACH.

 

Switchblade remote on eBay for about $45, key part $35, get it cut at the local locksmith for free or for a couple bucks and program it yourself - you'll have a nice key for about $80. That's the way to go.

 

can you post a link, the best price I can find on ebay for a switchblade stlye remote is $90

Well, you have to wait for the right auction - it's not that these are readily available everyday, save for the sellers who have an eBay store and are selling these things for a high price. But here is one, for about $50 shipped.
When I bought mine, I got it for $41 shipped. You just have to be lucky I guess.

I bought it and my wife got mad I spent $50 on a key fob.
