MN Price check on Shinka rims.

So... I made a huge mistake of going to a touchfree car was....And after 30 mins of the employee telling me how they work with lowered cars and deal with all wheel base and how if anything bad happens they will cover it.... I chose to go through with it, and this happened....

I advise opening this in a new tab so you can zoom on the gashes on the edges of my rim.

( I know they are not shinka rims) But I was wondering what the price is for a new oem shinka rim. I've been looking all over ebay and most places I can think of but I can't find any price quotes for NEW ones. Do any of you have any ideas?

On a side note there is this thread
https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-s...a-rims-196676/
... but are these really shinka rims they look like stock.

RockAuto Parts Catalog

Drill down to Wheels then 18" wheels. Use the drop down to select Medium Hyptersilver. I believe that is the color of the Shinka wheels. They are stated as "reconditioned", not replica's as you can get with the standard Bright Silver.

If you really want a NEW wheel well... hang on and I can assure you it will be FAR more than the $218 price for a reconditioned one.

EDIT

Seems the prices aren't as bad as I thought. I'm not sure which of the two 18" wheels listed here is the Shinka edition one. Maybe ASH8 can chime in, he seems to know part #'s like the back of his hand:

The thing is, is that I Won't be buying them. If they find the car wash the cause of curb burn (which is is) Then the company will be paying for the oem rims for my car.

Sorry about that, but i think it depends on the company's liable warranty. The wheels are still okay, just curb scratches, and they may just give you a free car wash for the whole year...

Well best case they cut me a check for the price of the rims..... and I pocket the cash and deal with my rims.... worst case they offer me free car washes, and I deal with the rims. Really... I'm just pissed that the employee told me about all the cars they dealt with and they never had a problem... and how they've had an 8 there before and it was fine.

If they told you they will cover the cost of the wheels that they damage while cleaning your car, then that's good, but it they will just cover the scratches, then that's all your gonna get...

I'm meeting with the regional manager of the car-wash (it's a nation wide place apparently) Saturday, so I guess I'll find out then.

Most car washes posts signs that indicate they are not liable for damages and you essentially enter at your own risk. If they are willing to work with you that's great, but most will not and they usually win in court if you try to sue.

They will probably pay to have the rim refinished.

What happened to their "work with lowered cars and deal with all wheel base and how if anything bad happens they will cover it" policy?

Well after going through the video footage... that NEVER showed the wheel base, he didn't see anything that would cause those marks...So they are running off "innocent, until proven guilty"

Gee, there's a shocker. I hate that happened to you man, but it does not surprise me one bit. My 8 is the only car I have that I refuse to take through those washers. As much as it sucks sometimes I do it by hand, or the paid power washers.
