Question Is it possible to have engine core warranty on rebuilt Rx8

Just random thoughts.... thinking in terms of fixing up a broken rx8 (assuming it was salvage repairable title.

Just out of solely dumb curiosity, I was just wondering if it was possible for a rebuilt title rx8 to have the engine core warranty.

(Please dont rant on about how I shouldnt do it and its a bad idea)

No warranty is voided if it's a rebuilt or salvaged title. We had a local go go through this after buying a rebuilt RX8.

Its always been to my understanding that any reman mazda engine is 12 months warranty only. Even then, I've heard many times that if you didn't have the dealership install it for you, they will give you hassles about replacing it under warranty within that 12 months because they think that you screwed up the install.

I have NEVER heard that mazda gives a 3 year warranty on their remans, regardless of who installs it. IT would be cool if they did, and if anyone has documentation or direct experience to the contrary I'd love to hear it.

I don't want an used engine, but I'd like to know if any one out there sells a rebuilt kit that will yield a stronger internal set up of the enginee than the factory. Otherwise I will just have to buy a new engine from Mazda.

If you have a rebuilt title then you will not get one under warranty unless they are stupid and don't catch that. You can buy one from Mazda but they have to install it to get the warranty and then the warranty is only 12 months/12,000 miles as RR said, not 3 years/36,000 miles like Aseras said. Mazda will charge you around $4500 for it installed. $4500.00 is $600.00 more than I paid for my forced induction built 2008 Renesis engine from Pineapple Racing.

yeah I'm aware of that. I already got quoted $4100 for a new engine installed after the core discount when you bring your old engine. However, I do not plan on getting the engine installed by mazda for their fees seem incredibly high for just installing an engine.
I would also like to know where I can get an engine that is better than those built by mazda.

Well you already know one place, pineapple racing. Also I believe mazmart, among most likely a ton of other places.

yeah I already look up pineapple racing but they don't seem to show any complete engines for sale on their website. they do nonetheless list a rebuilt kit but it's a bit expensive and I would have to find some one who works in rotaries locally to perform the rebuilt. I'm aware of mazmart, and I would prefer to get one from them if shipping costs don't offset the costs too much.
