yeah the guys were nice and not "snobbish" about owning a porsche.... They were just amazed at how nice the 8 really is, because I don't think any of them actually got to take a close look at one... I mean I popped my hood, let them get into the car and feel how nice it is, the only complaint was the head space haha, but as 8 drivers we all got used to it.... Hopefully I see another sports car meet soon, maybe a corvette meet hahah.....

Quote: "Yeah, track days are fun. I remember dropping an NSX in my Miata (in the turns, anyway). It's all about driver commitment & skill, and the tires you run."

Ditto that- I've been dropped in my '91 NSX by "slower" cars on the track but have also passed Ferraris. Heading to VIR with www.mazdadrivers.com in a couple of weeks and I'm sure some Miatas will toast me in the corners. ...but hopefully not too badly! It's all about having fun. BTW- The Ferrari guys were some of the nicest I've met at any track event.

Question: What's the difference between a Porsche and a porcupine?
Answer: For a porcupine, the ***** is on the outside...

No, no, no, you've got it mixed up. It's:

Question: What's the difference between a Harley and a Hoover vacuum cleaner?
Answer: With the Hoover, the dirt bag is on the inside.

(no offense to any Harley riders here)

The boxster S is a nice car, I think the standard Boxster needs to have a bit more power.

I'd rather spend the money on a S2000

I recently purchased and 86 911 Carrera - not new I realize, but it has a caracter all its own, I love both my RX-8 and the Porsche for different reasons, but the one common thing that ties them together is the fun factor to drive. The instant agaility is great in the RX-8, but the when that rear end squats down, digs in and just goes on the 911, well, thats pretty magical too!!
