Please list the good things about your RX-8 that you love vs other cars!
Well, Ive noticed many people concentrating in the problems that a few owners had and arent looking at the big pictures and how many good qualities and good things the RX_8 has.
Yes indeed, there is a few models that had imperfections from factory but that happened on every single car that is put out in the market, as the years go by, they perfect those errors through recalls or updates on new models.
Anyways, Lets post in here things you love about your car,
Please reply with 2 different categories, performance and everything else you would want to mention about your car,
Please refrain from posting negatiges, as there is plenty of other threads with that,
Lets help future buyers see the big picture and see why we love these cars and the new rotary life that many of you are new and have just started to experience.

Whoa! This is definately a nice change of pace.
I do not own an RX-8 YET. I'm counting down the days myself.
I like it for it's sleek looks. It's a little awkward at first, but much like the third gen Acura Integra, it quickly grew on me. My girlfriend's feeling about the RX-8 with the appearance package: "It looks so sleek and SEXY!"
As for the performance. It's not the strongest car I've ever tried. The strongest would be a 2002 Camaro Z28. However...it is perhaps one of the most balanced cars I've driven. Balanced meaning now matter how I drove it, how I sped up, merged, swerved what have you...it responded very smoothly in a predictable manner. It gracefully comes out of turns which is something that I am more fond of than how fast it'll go straight from a dead stop.
I also appreciate that at under 30,000 dollars, it already sports a fantastic package. I love how you don't have to get the absolute top of the line to get the strongest engine because there really isn't a "top of the line".
It annoys me to find cars like the Camaro that requires one to get the SS in order to get the full 320 horses, or the RSX Type-S to get the 200 horsepower engine, the Mustange SVT Cobra in order to get the 400 horsepower superchaged engine setup. Don't get me wrong, those cars are very nice and has a lot of creature comforts, but at the same time, the car companies charges you for those creature comforts, a lot of them, purists can do with out, such as moon roofs and leather seats to name a couple of things. I like how you can get the base model of the RX-8, and you've already got the 238, or 197 HP engine. You don't have to get any of the packages that for the most part, just add weight.
BRING BACK THE 7! My GF and I will buy the RX-8, but I want to add the RX-7 to my list of cars as well WHEN it comes back.

For me, this car is greater than the sum of its parts. If you were to quickly scan through the spec list (238 Hp, RWD, 6-spd, 4-door, etc...) the car sounds nice but not all that exceptional in comparison to the raw thrust of the EVO/STI or the scalpel like handling of the S2000 or the practicality of your normal boring sedan.
I know that some people are going to cringe when I say this but the car does not come in first in any category. (Runs and ducks for cover) Instead of narrowly focusing the car to do just one or two tasks exceptionally well Mazda has tried to do the unthinkable and balance the RX-8's traits over power, handling, functionality, and aesthetics. The result is a car that does everything fairly well and creates a car that can play many different roles well. Now that is pretty amazing!
It is this trait that really sets the RX-8 apart from everything else on the market and it makes me proud to own one.

You missed my category, hope that's the majority.
I'm no fanatic at all, and definitely think that rotary = poor fuel efficiency but good sound, smooth acceleration.. well it's ok.
I *DO* own an RX-8.
I'd think that the majority of RX-8 owners is not *fanatic* about some engine design.
Not even on this board :D

The RX8 is just a great car. I love it. The closest I have ever come to feeling like this about a car was when I bought my '96 Mustang SVT Cobra. Nope, that wasn't the most powerful car I've owned either -- that was a '70 Dodge Challenger with a 440 six-pack (almost stock). But the RX8 is more fun to drive than any of them, and it's comfortable too!

we've been listing things there for months now about what we like about the car
I'll leave this open for the poll.

The 8 was not my first choice. I bought it because it was a hell of alot cheaper than a 330. The rotary is neat, but being a product of domestic trucks, I crave torque, and I adore the 3.0 inline 6. But damn this thing is sticky. It will definitely tide me over until I can get a 330.
