yea I wanted the moonroof but it does take a suprising amount of headroom so I opted for none. Have you tried reclining the seat back a bit more? I would not want to change the cushion unless it was the last option.

make sure the seat is cranked all the way down and then recline the seat some more if needed. many people have not realized the seat was height adjustable or have thought it was all the way down when in fact there was a couple of cranks left.

Sorry to hear about your headroom problem.
Are you sure your wife didn't know that you would not fit in the car?
She must be having a lot of fun with it!

Funny that. She has just gone out in it, and always **** back with a big cheesy grin.

I'm with hotpot. My wife always complains about my baby but when it comes to driving somewhere fun she wants to drive my car. I think that she's just jealous. Anyway I do understand your situation and I know that this may not sound like what you wanted to hear but maybe you could trade it for one without the sunroof option. If you don't fit in the car how can the dealer argue with you?

Or maybe this is a better option, get your own RX-8, like his and hers :D .

I'm in the same boat. Fortunately, I sat in both the sunroof and non-sunroof cars... and I knew the sunroof car wasn't an option for me.

Bummer... because that's the 1.5-inches of headroom you need.

How about driving with the sun roof open or tilted? Or formula one driving position?
Sorry can't help you. You'll just need to change the seats I guess.

How about an aftermarket seat? I have no idea if any are lower but it's worth taking a look around.

There's really nothing you can do.

In my experience salespeople, who usually ignore fit issues (for example, I won't fit in a BMW M3 with a sunroof) flat out won't show an 8 with a sunroof to anyone over 6' tall.

At 6'1 I'm not even comfortable as a passenger in an 8 with a sunroof...

Trade your car with someone else on this forum that doesn't have the moonroof but wants the upgrade. I'm 6 feet, just barely fit, but glad I've got mine. When the weather turns nice I think it will be great.

If you should find an aftermarket seat that fixes your problem, post it here... there's lots of us that would be interested.

LOL! That's how I decide when to get mine cut - when it starts rubbing against the headliner! I'm 75" tall, with 36" inseam, and I have enough headroom with the seat reclined back about 25 degrees. Many times I find myself driving with my head tilted a bit to the right, though

I'm sorry I'm 76 and 1/2 inches tall, I am perfectly split down the middle with my waist being the 1/2 way point, the 1st thing I did was sit in it to make sure I fit. I fit fine, I do recline the seat farther back, move it all the way back, push the back of the seat down with the front of the seat a little higher,(this makes your legs farther from the floor) and tilt the steering wheel all the way down so it rests straight up and down. I have no problems except an occasional hair, (long hair) gets caught in the moonroof. There are not many cars designed for people of our proportions, however, this is by far the best room I've had in any sports car. The 350 was close but, other than room I didn't like the car. To solve your problem, I'm sure you have the GT package, the 6 way adjustable seat also sits higher, so you could get an aftermarket seat to take care of this problem, however I doubt your wife would be pleased.
