Please correct me if i am wrong...

So I was browsing through Cars.com and came across this 8.
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21&pageNum ber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage= 0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE+descending& certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-|E-|M-_30_|D-_6388_|N-N|R-30|I-1%2c7|P-PRICE+descending|Q-descending|Z-45227&aff=national&paId=313030378&recnum=3&leadExi sts=true
SO, I am looking through the pics and all of the sudden im like damn, thats an aftermarket exhaust, maybe they will trade me?. So i email them, and less then 1 minute later a lady calls me saying, "Hi, I heard you have some interest in an RX-8 for sale." ?????????? I said no i am interested in the aftermarket exhaust on it. She said it wasnt aftermarket according to the sales people and I was like, I can tell from the pics it isnt the OEM exhaust. So basically I need to know if I am an idiot or maybe i can still get a nice exhaust out of this.

Ahh thank you, i thought i was going crazy, but yeah my idea is to trade them for the OEM exhaust, because some people wouldn't want to buy a modified car...

What? You want to go to a used car lot and trade them parts off their inventory?

Just wondering... how does a thought like that cross your mind?

well that makes more sense, but I'd doubt they would want to do it...

you have to give something to them.

propose the idea of better sale chance, aftermarket means modified, you modify to go faster. no one wants an abused car, offer exhaust swap, maybe pay like twenty dollars, and get an exhaust out of it, and they get a more appealing car.

Leather black/red interior but no sunroof? Did they offer a package like that, or is that a FrankenEight?

If it is Mazdaspeed exhaust, they may state it is "stock" because it is a mazda product and on their inventory or they are the biggest around

How does a catback on an RX8 make it "highly modified"? Assuming it doesn't have any exhaust upgrades.

i actually did this with my last car (350z i hate it now lol) but usually car lots want cars that are as stock as possible coz aftermarket parts lead buyers to believe the car was abused. i worked at one and the more stock the better so i went to one i saw an aftermarket on and they swapped clean for me just took my stock their mechanic actually did the swap too so it worked out well. as for that 8 it could really be tips on an oem system i havent seen a system that looks like that it looks bigger than the ms for sure.
