long time reader.....first time poster.....

after some debate (didnt take much) with the devil voice in my head I have my RX-8 waiting at the dealership for me....already took off the rest of the day to go enjoy it....noon can't come quick enough!!!

I'm glad to see that there's such a devoted group of 8 enthusiasts out here. Thanks for comments and invaluable information on this board.

Now to go smoke my buddy's Z on a road course!! :p

Winning blue - 6 speed - Touring package - love that color! Hadn't seen one in that color on the road in my area yet untill I pull out of the dealer. Within the 10 miles back to my house I see 3 others!!

Congrats.... I picked up my Velocity Red GT 6-Speed Sunday... I genuinely like it more each time I drive it - It's killing me - I keep coming up with excuses to go drive: Grocery store, Target, Office Depot, Lunch, Dry cleaning... I'm not getting any work done!

 

yeah congrats from me too! I just picked up my Velocity Red AT TR last Friday. My first new car and I'm thrilled with it even with my decision to go AT due to traffic. Sometimes my only excuse to drive it is to go fill it up with gas, hahahaha. I drove 300 miles easily in 2 days. Anyway, enjoy your new RX-8!

 

HAHA.....I spent 3 hours away from work at "lunch" today.....didnt eat a thing but got some good driving in. I'm thinking about changing my hours at work so I can avoid rush-hour....Northern VA traffic is no fun! especially when sitting in my baby!

 

that's the truth, i picked mine up in your area (Brown's Alexandria) since I got a killer deal on it

they were nothing but professional except for one thing, they forgot my free tank of fuel and i was so star struck at the time i didn't notice

it was about a 100 mile drive for me and I completed the deal around rush hour, which means I was heading out of northern VA @rush hour on a friday..... frustrating in a brand new car to be in bumper to bumper traffic on 95

Welcome to the club! My wife and I always just take off from our lives and cruise. We work from home though so nobody else really knows we are gone. My favorite thing to do is just start driving in a new direction and see where the road takes me, this car is perfect for it. Enjoy the 8 and get used to getting asked a lot of questions about it.

 

I've had my velocity Red GT 6-speed for almost one year now, and everyting you said is still true. I just want to drive.
