Picked it up tonight
Picked up my titanium rx8 tonight. GT package, rear spoiler, appearance package, spare tire kit, 6 disc cd, black/chaparral. It is simply beautiful. Couple of things to note: dealer gave me a little supplemental booklet, in there it says to use only 5-20 Non-synthetic oil, it also talks about cold start procedure (never mentions flooding) but does emphasize importance to follow procedure to "avoid rough engine". I mention these things because there have been numerous threads about both and it seems Mazda is now trying to get some info out.

Congrats stickman! I guess they have the spindoctors working overtime. Now if they could just get the engineers to stay a little late . . .
Oh well. Gotta love the 8 even with it's idiosyncrasies.

Congrats and enjoy your new baby... Now you have to come up with a name. I chose the Ti Grey, 6MT, GT, w/Nav. and rear spoiler.

Congrats on the new addition. I can hardly wait to be able to write the same post.
Good luck with your 8, please keep us posted on your progress and revelations.
Just a few more months and my black beauty will be sitting in my driveway.:D

the supplement booklet you mention- is that titled "quick tips" if so that has been included with the manual since the very begining, it's just that many people never seem tohave bothered reading it.
congratulations on the car!

So far around 70 miles, keeping shift points between 4 and 5000 rpm for now and varying speeds and rpm. I think I'm going to move my stuff into the car and just live in it. This is one sweet ride:D :D

Hey, I was checking tire pressure and noticed that my rx8 came with Dunlop sport 8090 tires instead of the Bridgestone re040. The tread wear rating is 280 which is a lot better than the Bridgestones. So far the grip is very good, haven't tried them in rain yet. Maybe Mazda switched suppliers or they are using both Dunlop and Bridgestone

Mazda started offering them with Dunlops in January. Not sure if they're replacing ALL bridgestones or offering both. Here's an earlier thread I found.

I have a six speed with the Grand Touring Package, Appearance Package, 6 disc cd, spare tire, rear spoiler. As I drive it more I'll let folks know how the tires are doing.
