Phantom Blue Mica?

Alright, so I am looking at getting an rx8 here in the next few months (used), and I was looking at new ones on Mazda's website just for fun. I completely fell in love with the phantom blue mica...so I was just curious...what years was phantom blue mica an option on?

Only 2007 that I know of.

PS. Go see one for real, the color is 10000000% better than any picture can do.

I actually test drove a Mazda 3 last week in that color and it is very handsome. Good choice.

Bought my 07 in January. I think PB was available in 06, as well, but I could be wrong. Here she is:

they axed nordic green to make room for phantom blue. The PB looks blue or green depending on how the sun is hitting it, pretty cool color

I love the Laguna Seca blue, but I dont' think it'd work on an 8

Hey thanks guys! Very helpful...perhaps I will have to wait till you can get an '06 for around 20k...Laguna Seca is possibly the best color ever, but again, couldn't picture it on an 8

Yep very Green. Fine if you are moving and you look at it from the outside.

But looks green from a driver's perspective.

I still think the Strato Blue is the sharpest color. It's too bad it wasn't offered in N.A.

That's very similar to what Stormy Blue looks in person.

+1! You gotta see this color in person. At dusk, in direct sunlight, and at night. ****, man, even under flourescent lighting it looks nice!

This car is the closest thing I can get to a new Montego Blue FD, so I'm happy. The color really has to be seen in person, several different shades of green depending on lighting, blue at other times, with gold flakes that really shine through in direct sunlight. It is way better than the look of old Probe chamleon color or the purple chameleon on caprices and camaros, but of a similar effect. Stop by a dealership on a nice day and look at one.

click on these thumbnails and take a close look at the color variations. My camera is a shitty sony, but the car is clean and the pics are big, and tell me its not sharp looking. :D

Its not turquoise...only Mazda's stupid website makes it turquoise.

Here's my (wife's) PB 8: In the day

At night

Now, does it look turquoise to you?

I guess it looks not too bad at night as it shows more of a blueish hue. Under the bright sunlight it is kinda greenish turqouise colour. Well who am I to complain. I chickened out and bought a silver. LOL!!!

let me put it to you another way; women love this color.

and let me also point out that it is a Phantom Blue rx8 that wins the most recent C&D comparo with the '07 Z, second gen TT and Shelby GT (not GT500). Took a PB to get the job done roight in my opinion. :/ j/k, mag racing at its finest.

Well here is one guy who love the PB. I like the stormy blue as well. If they had sand interior in 06 I would have gotten a PB/sand instead of my Shinka.
