I might sell my car... ideas of what I'll get?

Hey guys,

Gas prices are rising.. and I have already created a thread about what car to buy. Now I am asking you guys for a new response. My car is a 2004 Titanium Grey RX-8 (auto 4spd) with 50k miles. It has a salvaged title (front bumper damage when I bought it.. we built it back up.. new bumper, new radiator). How much do you think I can get for it in about 3-4 months. Its in excellent condition, I take it to my dealer once every two months for a full check and oil change. I have never had one problem with it, and I am a non-smoker. Its got a sports interior (non-leather) and I'll include both my Ipod adaptor and kenwood 200watt sub (fits perfectly where the spare wheel is supposed to be). I would also include 4 summer tires (contisport).

Now remember, this is a salvaged title, so watcha all think?

Maybe see if you can get the salvaged title removed at another state and get a higher price? I've heard something about you can get the salvaged title removed somehow.

well if someone has a "tutorial" on how to removed salvage (cus it literally just had a beaten bumper), i'd greatly appreciate it. I was hoping for 12-13k .

Thanks again for the advice so far,

why do you take your car to the dealer every 2 months to get a check up and oil change? you do a lot of driving in a 2 month period?

I seriously doubt it... If it were a good autox car you might be able to get a little more, but no one is going to touch an AT RX-8 for autox.

I would assume so if you have 50k miles on a 3 year old car.

If *gas price* is a problem for you, you shouldnt be even driving.

Sell the car for 10 grand, and start taking subway.

I just bought an 04 with 31,000 miles for $15,700. 6sp grand touring that stickered at $32,250. Non smoking- garage kept.
Another FYI- most finance companies won't touch a salvage car so you would need a cash buyer. I spent 7 years as a finance manager for a Volvo dealer, there's no way to change a salvage title that I'm aware of.
Hope that helps!

An 04 would technically be a 4 year old car. I purchased my 04 in August of 2003, so 50k miles isn't really that much driving.

Removal of salvage title is unscrupulous!

Once a car is salvaged that information always stays with the VIN. AS IT SHOULD BE.

10-12ish probably,
I bought mine for 15,500 and it was a 04 silver with 35K miles, and a lot of options

Cross sports cars off your list. Get a Focus and turbo it. It will spit
Fire.

Brilliant!

My thoughts exactly. What else happened to it? Fess up. I got in a fender bender with my car 2 years ago and had to replace the front bumper and oil cooler. It doesn't have a salvage title.

Maybe it was stolen at the time of the damage and the insurance co. had already paid the owner for the car. Then it would be salvaged with little damage.

Just guessing,
Mike
