Performance enhancement with new flash?

Has anyone been thru the recall/engine replacement/reflash yet? If you only needed the latest flash, have you noticed a difference? I have read other sites which have been saying the latest flash brings the engine back to pre-EPA re-tuning condition.

Highly doubt it the gay EPA would never let that happen.

What are the "other" sites you are refering to? I just would like to read some of those posts myself.

It idles very well now, to the point where its practically impossible to stall. I can come to a rolling stop in 6th gear at 1k rpms without touching the clutch or gas and it doesn't give a hint of stalling. The AC cycles better and it may gain some power for some engines, keep in mind it can take up to two weeks for the flash to really kick in. I'm still just on my second tank of gas but judging from my first tank there is a slightly better mpg.

I originally read the comment by some owners on the RX-8 owners board, which e-mails responses and questions to you and other members (mailing list). Thanks Rx-hawk for you observations. I am still waiting for my recall letter. As another member put it, my RX-8 is busy studying in hopes to pass the test.

Sounds good. Here's to hoping that it improves all of our cars.

Remember with the new PCM calibration you get new plugs.

I am looking to change mines soon as after 3 track days they are probably knackered.

That alone will improve mpg and power figures.
