Pedal Positioning

I noticed the RX8 pedals are inline with each other. I'm used to the gas being a little further back. Is it inline for sport driving? Do you get used to it like that?

WAIT!!! Before anybody flames, I admit stupidity. I did a search AFTER I posted and found Omicron's excellent thread. Sorry about that. I have a yellow appearance package coming off the ship this week. I was waiting for a 2005 but given the posts of yellow discontinued, I took the plunge now. Thanks everyone for all the great posts which aided me in making my decision. If I find the pedal position too crappy after driving, I will design an aluminum hogout and post the technical drawing for others.
