Any of you guys got any idea what sort of failure rate there is with the PCM in the US, as mine has failed on my car and in the UK it seems to be quite a rare fault and it looks like my car is going to be off the road for the best part of 30 days as Mazda UK cannot supply a replacement until November 12th and the car has already been in the shop for 12 days.

The car is only 3 months old and it seems a long time to wait for a replacement plug in part.

 

Any word on how long the replacement PCM took?
Mine is just being done - 8 days so far - diagnosis after 3 days.
Did Mazda provide a loaner car for the time they needed the car?

It is a bit of a long story but my car was off the road for 1 week before they diagnosed that the PCM had failed, they then told me that it would take a further 2 weeks to obtain a replacement PCM.

As my car was only 3 months old I did not accept this time scale so I gave them 4 days to fix my car or I was going to reject the car and press for a refund of my money.

3 days later they had located a PCM in Germany and flew it in to the UK and fitted it.

I was given a loan car from day one ( as should be under the terms of the warranty)

I think I was the first one in the US with a PCM failure. It took a week to get mine replaced.
Good luck. And get a loan car. If they say only for 3 days... call customer service and they will take care of the rest of the time.
