Question Ordering! A Couple ?s

I've decide to order one and wife says OK! I wish I ordered back in Jan when I first considered it. Anyway I have a couple of questions about the car. The answers may not be known since no one has one yet but here goes...

Is the RX8 drive by wire or does it have a throttle cable? I haven't always heard good things about DBW.

Not sure if I should get DSC. How intrusive is it? Does it work by braking or cutting the power? Can it be turned off and does off mean off? I considered a G35 but read that the DSC is very intrusive. I plan to autoX and track the RX8.

Thanks for any information. These forums or extremely helpful!

I believe the car is drive by wire as is the case with most upcoming cars, most namely in the BMW Z4.

The DSC unlike other systems, can be completely disengaged. When you hit the button the first time it will only activate under heavy braking (saving you from a skid), and if you hold it down for 5 seconds, it will completely turn off.

I think autox and tracking will be a blast, and autox probably moreso because the car is lightweight and agile and will change directions easily.

Any other questions please pose them as you think of em

Thanks for the info. If DSC can be disengaged I might spring for it. I'm not surprised the RX8 has drive by wire but I hoped for a cable. My brother's S2000 has a cable which surprised me. This may sound dumb but I think Honda is usually goes low tech (except V-Tec) which may explain their reliability rep. We tracked it at Mid Ohio, what a blast. But I need 4 seats. Hellooooo RX8, I'm looking forward to a little "friendly" competition.
Thanks again.

The RX-8 is drive by wire. The high power version has two electro-throttles and the low power version has one electro-throttle.

The scribes have all said that the traction control and stabilility control systems are relatively non-intrusive. I do not want any driver's aids, including ABS. But what am I gonna do?

Press the switch off button?

Usualy if all else fails removing the fuse for the ABS system kills that....
