Unhappy Oops I flipped my 8! -true story

70-75mph coming off a freeway offramp (2fast!) it happened. I felt the slide and heard the tires entering the right curved ramp I eased the ebrake back. It was to late. She then hit the dirt rolling up an embankment. Amazingly, I opened the door and walked away with merely seat belt bruises. The driver side airbag was the only that deployed. I was alone and blown away to realize that my front didn't deploy. To add insult to injury there was no ins. So this means that there will be some good parts here in need of some good homes. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm wide open! Mods, if there is a better place to offer used parts 4sale, please send me there, ty! 2004 RX-8 BLK-BLK/BRN, AUTO TRAN, 43K, NAV SYS, IN DASH 6-CD CHANGER

so why were you driving a car with no insurance?

BTW, no one is going to buy parts from you being that you are a new member with no hostory to back you up, and the fact that you are so irresponsible.

go try ebay.

I think by pulling the ebrake while sliding sideways might have caused you to roll.

From what I know, depending on the impact blows on the car, your airbag system did the right thing. Although I wonder why the head airbag didn't deploy. Glad to hear you're alive.

How is this insult to injury? It's "add stupid to careless." Why the hell would you drive around without insurance???

Anyway, glad you are ok and were able to walk away from the accident.

Driving around with no insurance for 43k miles is stupid and fishy. I would like to see pics of this roll over.

I would assume that the front air bags didn't deploy because the the sensors indicated it wasn't a head on impact.

Glad you're OK. I don't think the front should deploy in a rollover either. Save some of the parts and buy a 6sp MT. Ask the dealer if they can sell you a car without certain parts (ie engine, tranny and whatever survived) :O If you buy manual next time at least you'll be busy learning how to heel-and-toe that off-ramp instead of thinking you're playing a videogame and doing 75 in a 25.

Well it looks like rollover damage and it's just very small and not a thumbnail but who knows.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Seems like you were very, very lucky.

Don't hit the brakes (or e-brake) when losing control (sideways). It will just make you lose control faster and more dramtically.

Here is something a racing instructor always used to say about conering "Slow in, fast out. Fast in, spin out."

RXEvolV,
Do you mean that you had no insurance at all, or that you had no collision insurance? Did you pay cash for the car? Glad you are OK.

Do you have any other pictures we can see, other than one that is so tiny and just looks like a generically flattened black car???

That's not an rx8 hood. You couldn't get rid of the dip on the hood by rolling the car.

Yeah, that's true. It might be the angle of the camera but it also looks like larger (longer) car. What I am wondering is how anyone could have walked out of that car shown in the photo. It's too flat for someone to have been in it and gotten out without all the obvious prying apart jaws of life and cutting marks usually involved, especially with only seat belt bruises.

And no insurance???!!!!!

To some of you, thanks for your encouraging thoughts. As to why? Cuz I've always wanted to part out my 8... and here's your sign. Who would lie about a tragedy like this?! Dumb, stupid or smart, **** just happens.
