Online poll by MNAO?

I was called by MNAO and asked to participate in an online survey for the Mazda RX-8. I gave them my email, and am filling out the survey right now, but I wondered if anyone else has received a similar call here.

Guess I'm one of the "lucky" ones. :D I'm about to go to the web site and complete the survey tonight. I will take some of the comments in the other survey thread into account with I do the survey. Thanks to all those who posted their comments earlier.

Hm, they ask for the e-mail in every response, so they might have done a real selection.

I found it particularly interesting that the transmission section was extremely detailed
compared to all other sections. Sounds to me as if they take all the transmission problems
now serious.

For the information of those who haven't taken the survey, it is very structured and designed to only solicit owner "concerns" in certain selected, specific funtional areas. Actually, if you have no concerns, you simply click on the No Concerns button and go about your business.

It is not a "what would you like to see in future versions of the RX-8" survey. In fact, if your problem does not fit into one of the functional areas on their list, you will have a difficult time getting in your comments. I fudged on a few of them by inserting comments that did not strictly fit the description of the area on which they were soliciting comments.

Sure would be nice to have a face-to-face conversation with someone in a position of authority in Mazda instead of completing this somewhat meaningless survey. (I bet the survey company was paid a bundle by Mazda for this one.) Not that I have a lot of complaints to pass on, but it would be nice if some of the more knowledgable and rational members of this forum (I think there are a few ) could pass on some additional comments, both good and bad, about this amazing car.

Some categories have an "Other" selection, but all of them have an "Do you have additional concerns regarding < main section > ?" box.
I took the liberty to enter suggestions here. Maybe they will be read by someone with technical background?

I hope that original input will be passed on to MAZDA. And I'm somewhat confident with that assumption.
There was too much free-text entry requested. Chances are good that this is not just turned into a statistical
profile by someone who has no idea of the real technical matter... Just hoping....

I too did not like the open-endedness of the survey. I would have preferred a "rate every single aspect of this car on a scale of 1 to 10" type of survey with an opportunity to add comments where applicable.

I found myself realizing that I have had absolutely zero issues with this car, and was a little bit at a loss for finding things to comment about. Other than the fact that the car has been great fun to drive.

My issues have been pretty minor, but I thought I might as well include them, since they're asking. I, too, would have preferred (and I somewhat expected) a 1-10 kind of thing. The first link I clicked I didn't actually end up being something I had an issue about. *oops*

It takes a couple of weeks to get the e-mail with instructions on where to go to complete the survey.

The P flash changed the AC??? In what way? Please let me know today - I'm taking my car in tomorrow to complain about the A/C amplifier swap that did absolutely nothing. I also am not getting the automatic switch to recirc mode that some are reporting. Is this somehow tied to the 'P' flash?

You should read the "New 'P' Flash" thread, but apparently this flash raised the engine rpm point where the A/C cuts off which would not seem to be related to your problem.
