I bought a set of Winter Sport M3's last year and they worked out very nicely for me. Very good for driving on those cold but dry winter days, much better in the rain than my crappy oem summer tires (of course), and fully driveable in the snow (about three to four inches was all I tried).
The lack of low end torque in the 8 is actually a good thing for driving a sports car in the snow...

well, you CAN drive it in the winter. I just choose not to spend extra money on tires and put the extra miles on it when I am extremely fortunate to work at the same place as my girlfriend (who Ive lived with for 2 years), so we just share her Grand Prix from November to March. Hell yea, my 8 will be warm and cozy in the garage!!

I'd garage my car and buy a beater and drive it every ******* day, but I live in an apartment with two parking spots (which is pretty good considering) and there's nowhere I could leave the beater.
