Unhappy One problem w/ 2009 RX8

Okay guys I have loved this car ever since it came out in 2004. I am now planning on getting me one after having been in college for the past 4 years and watching others drive their 8s. Anyway, I love the look of the R3 and I love the features that the GT has but I don't like how Mazda has forced us too choose. I want all the features that the GT has ( leather seats, climate control, navigation and etc) but I also want to have the cool look of the R3 (rear wing spoiler, side sills, and upgraded tires). To make things worse, my favorite color (blue) is only available for the R3. Is it just me or does anyone else feel annoyed that the have to choose one or the other. I pretty much decided that I am going for the GT edition but I would have loved to have all the other options available to me.

r3 is more of a track model. If you get the GT. you get heavy leather seats and a bunch of extras. If you get the R3, you don't get the extra crap but you get upgraded rims and whatnot.

It's a package.

I would go for the R3. If you want, you can get the R3 and I'll swap seats with you

Yeah I was torn as well, but went with the R3. The Recaros are much nicer than the GT's leather seats, but I do wish the R3 had the navigation system as an option.

Get a tomTom GPS. They're cheaper and better than the stock nav.

Tires are no big deal. Niether is spoiler. Wait awhile and someone will sell theirs.

Color.... well you have to live with the offerings.

aftermarket nav FTW. I have an aftermarket unit hardwired where my ashtray used to be. I think it looks better than stock, lol.

I heard the '09s don't have the blue night time speedo display? That sucks

I'd like the GT with the R3's Recaro seats.

Thumbs down Blue

I too am very blue about the absence thereof on the GT.....really poor color combos offered. What were they thinking? It doesn't cost them any more, so why lose sales? Yellow is also a must, IMO. Also, being forced into hot, cave-like black interiors for most colors is curse.

As a result, I'm holding off an '09 purchase.

Without a doubt for the price, the R3 is the better choice... for me at least.
