OC fires killing my car
I live in Irvine and the fires are just killing my car... my baby
The fires aren't too close to where I live, but the ashes are everywhere
It gets in my car and I can't open the windows when I drive
Also my Aem CAI is probably getting beaten up too sucking up all that dust
(should I check it out, or will my intake be safe?)
to those rx8 owners directly affected by the fires, my heart goes out to you and your families

not to sound like a dick . . but a car is just a car! (even the 8 I love)
My parents have been evacuated, and they stand to lose many more important things than just a little metal glass and rubber

What??? Say it aint so... there is more to life than a car???
Honestly though... Sorry to hear about your family. There is someone on the Regal board that evacuated and when his parents left the house the fire was only a couple of blocks away. So far it sounds like his house is still safe, but its not over yet and so that could change.

suck it up wussies. seeing how your neighbors are loosing their homes and personal belongings - your $300 intake isnt that big of a deal. Sheesh - prioritize your cr*p.
Worst case scenario - youll need a new air filter. OOohhhhHHhooooo - THE TRAGEDY!!!!!!!
Oh and can't forget the ultimate tragedy that Tajabo can't see the sun for a few days. Does god have no mercy???!?!?!?!?!?!?

I'm sorry to you guys who have lost your house or families or friends have. Thats rough. We were the next county over to be evacuated when there were bad FL fires in may, but we got really lucky. We were covered in ash's but our house was ok! I hope everything goes well for you guys!

even I, the great Zaino Master am not all that concerned with what the ashes are doing to my car.
Does it look like crap? YES
Is my RB duct probably sucking in lots of ashes? YES
Will my car survive? YES
A good wash this weekend and still having a garage to put my baby in is what is on my mind right now.

My car was dirty from last week when the ashes started raining down on Sunday. (yup, you guys read thar right: Jedi did NOT wash his car this weekend! Think that's only ever happened one other time)
Putting a car cover on at this point would probably cause more harm then good since it'll just scratch the paint.
Also, most covers are 'breathable' so the ashes would still get through and cleaning that cover would be a P.I.T.A.

yea, Seven stock was raining, so it would have helped
but obviously thats not the option right now, and if it does rain right now, its going to be heavy acid rain..........which is bad bad bad

My title of this thread sounds so ignorant. I really send out my prayers for those who have been directly affected by the fires.
I'm probably going to clean out my aem intake just to be safe. I'll do it when these wildfires are over.
I hope my school closes down for awhile (UCI) poor air conditions
