Now the rear brakes squeal!!

I had my front brakes replaced with the TSB 3 months ago becuase of horrible squeal and now, at 25k miles, my rear brakes are squealing at every stop. I've had the rears checked and more than half of the pads are still left. Anyone else?

My rear brakes started squealing about two weeks ago also, 8k miles. No difference in the feel of the car as far as i can tell, just annnoying, especially when the windows are down. taking it in this week.

They should resurface the Rotors(or Replace them) and change the pads. Atleast thats what that did for me. Here the thread with my invoice! https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...chmentid=45351

Your invoice says "FRT brakes"...The dealership is required to replace the fronts because of a TSB. I have already had that done. My rear brakes are now squealing--there is no TSB for rear brakes.

No, I never showed the the TSB. I complained about it, they test drove it and then replaced them. My dealership told me they only do TSB's when the customer brings them the TSB papers. Otherwise they leave them alone. Just complain and tell them you didnt buy the car like that so you dont expect for them to make noise.

Hmmmm...Sounds like a bad dealership if they only fix known, documented problems when they make their customers do all the leg work of finding the TSB--which customers typically have no access to. Shouldn't the dealership check your vehicle for TSBs and recalls everytime you bring it in for service?

Obviously I'll report my squealing brakes on my next service. I just wanted to know if this was a spreading problem, or only my car.

Yeah I know, the service was bad there as well. Haven't heard anything from my brakes yet. (Knock on Wood)

front brakes usually do 70% of the braking and the rears do about 30%. hence the bigger calipers up front. the e-brake is incorporated in the rear calipers. instead of hydraulics squeezing, its a manual cable being tightend whenever you pull up on the e-brake handle.

honestly, my brakes squeal too. but brakes will squeal from time to time. after all, they are semi-metallic, right?? soon as i wear these suckers out, time to upgrade to some slotted rotors and hawk pads.

I got my front brake pad replaced about 3 months ago and they still make noise. I took it back to the dealership and they told me they replaced the brake pad and there is nothing they can do for me. I'm not sure what I can do about it.
