noise from brakes

i just got back from the bahama's and my right front brake was making a thumping noise .since i had too have my oil changed anyway i had them check it out .the dealership just called me and told me that the rotor had a depression in it were it had set for four days without being driven.he sad normally it take around 2 weeks for this to happen ,so now they have to turn my rotors.i have never had this happen to me on any othe rcar mazda much have very cheap rotors.

I've never heard of anything like that... However, I have heard of something like this:

I live by the coast. The saltwater will cause rust to grow around the contact patch to the pad. When you drive it will make a thumping noise until it all rubs off. Scared the crap out of me the first time it ever happened to one of my cars. It generally only happens (enough to notice) after a prolonged period of sitting (weeks)...

you live on the west coast i'm on the east that might be what happened and they jusy dont know

Could be. Never had it bad enough that rotors had to be turned though. Typically I could drive it for a few (not at high speed though) and it would go away. I suppose you park your car outside?
