I apologize if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but in the photos posted and the movies of the 8s on US soil, I've never seen one with a moon roof yet. Maybe that is the reason some of us who ordered early (January/February) aren't getting our cars on the first few boats.

Well, mine has a moonroof and it's sitting at port Hueneme. I believe if you peruse the threads you'll find quite a few that have people getting their VINs looked up, and many of them have the Touring or Grand Touring packages - both of which have the moonroof.

 

i want to see one in person without a sunroof, i've only seen the two pre-productions with sunroofs, and mine doesn't have one (i dont' like sunroofs)

 

Not sure how this fits with reality, guess we'll have to wait until the cars start to arrive, but I've heard from different Mazda reps (at the auto show and Rev-it-up) that if you order cloth seats, you won't be able to get a sunroof as an option (if you want leather, that's not a problem) ... personally I hope that's not true - because I want cloth!



I've also seen conflicting info on the web about this matter ...

 

Well my car is definately comming with cloth seats and a moonroof deflector... so there sure as hell better be a moonroof under the deflector! :p

 

Well, that shoots that theory. I thought maybe they ran the moonroofless cars then retooled for the moonroofs. Thanks for the info.

 

in the U.S. the touring package gets everything in the sport, has cloth seats and gets xenons, bose, moonroof, auto day night mirror w/homelink, and dsc. grand touring gets the sport and touring stuff plus two tone leather, heated and motorized adjustable driver's seat and heated mirrors.

in other parts of the world things are different for instance australia doesn' get the moonroof at all, not even an option while in the UK it is an option available with all packages and those crazy canucks have their own thing going on.

... but maybe the reason I've been told no cloth seats if I've also wanted a moon roof, is because I've wanted the "Grand Touring package" but only with cloth seats ... with Nav ...



Since it is now my luck that I have to wait at least a couple of years, I might be able to order exactly what I want ... or go with leather ...
