New use for the center console

So I went to Canada's Wonderland (an amusement park) today with my girl and her friends. The day started off hot and sunny. Near the end of the evening, it suddenly started pouring. Not light drizzle but more like a torrential downpour.

My girl put her cell in her friend's bag when we went on the rides and forgot to take it out when it started raining. So it ended up being totally soaked and wouldn't turn on. When we opened up the cell to take out the battery, water was in it. So we first put it in front of the vents to dry it. Phone still didn't work. So I was gonna take it to get it fixed so she put it in the center console and closed it.

We drove around for a while before dropping her off at home. When we got there she had to get her sim card from the phone. I decided to try to turn it on one more time - and it worked!! So it seems that the center console acted like a dryer and dried the insides of the phone.

Well, we've always known the "heater" to be a feature heh. Gotta watch out though, sometimes it gets a little crazy and melts things..

Are you talking about the cupholders and closing the cover or the little cubby space behind it?

I've put a cell phone in the oven to dry it out before too. If you turn it to the lowest setting and leave the door open a crack it works pretty well. Saved my phone anyway.

Drive less aggressively? ahahhaa

Also REMS, you can try throwing **** into the pit in the trunk. We all know it replaces the Domino pizza's heatwave bag, anything you put in there in the summer will be nice and warm and dry.

So I was going to a fondue dinner the other day.

I just put the cheese in the center console, and by the time I got there, it wasa perfectly melted.

Happened to me too. Have an iphone now, which as a phone, I just keep on me now...

For some reason, my cupholders used to get very hot, especially when I first got the car. But for a long time now they haven't given off any heat.
