I'm very, very happy with these tires, enough to buy it again and again. In general I don't have to drive all that much slower around corners and curves between dry and wet, and after 10,000 miles there's still quite a bit of tread left on them (AT, can't do burn outs which helps). I was expecting them to give out after 10,000 miles, but it's got at least another 5000 miles to go.
Well iam looking to spend in between 4 to 5 hundred dollars on tires..how much are the Eagle F1 GSD3?

Sumitomo!

I bought a set of Sumitomos, 245/40/18.

They stick like glue, ride well and are pretty quiet -- I'm much more satisfied with the Sumitomos than the stock tiresw.

Added bonus -- bought a set of 4 from Tirerack for $394.00!

Beware, they can be a little slick in the corners on wet roads, but that's what DSC is for, right?

a lot! I think close to $200/tire in stock size. Maybe more. Goodyea/Michelin are overpriced IMO. I like Falken, Kumho, Pirelli, Toyo, Hankook for good tires at appropriate prices.

wrong. DCS is to save you in the RARE event that something BAD happens. Not for the event you buy shitty tires.

You think tires are expensive, just be happy no one jacked up your car and stole your wheels. Did you know that the 18" OEM wheels on the 8 cost $500 each? Freakin insane.

If you want a good tire / and want to save money ... go with the Tire rack special on the Potenza s-o3 ... Insane cheap for a tire that good. Friggin no brainer. If they were at regular price I'd reccomend something else ... like the Kumho's or the Falkens.

those tires are not available from edgeracing in either 225/45, 225/40 or 245/40. I believe they are also on "back order" status at tire rack. It has been rumored for quite a while Kumho was on the verge of replacing this tire. Looks like that could finally be the case.

So they are. I should check back there more often. They don't have the 245/40 size even listed on their site anymore and the 235/40 size is on back order. bummer.

I hope they move forward with their next design. They would have one HELL of a tire on their hands. I know a few tires current models are said to be lesser quality, in terms of grip, than their predecessor. Even being an old design I wouldn't mind putting the MX's on my car. There are a few in the Chicago group that run them with much success. Seem to be a good tire.

+1 for Goodyear F1 GsD3. Great all around tire. Not usually a Goodyear fan, but they got it right on this one. Great dry, outstanding wet traction. Quiet, good wear qualities, react well to changes in psi, and damn sexy lookin too. Go with 245/40/18.
