New Stormy Blue Owner
After a long wait I finally got myself an RX-8 a week and a half ago. It's a stormy blue sport model with the 6-speed manual and the performance package. When I went to the dealer, they claimed that it was impossible to get a manual stormy blue for at least 3 months out and I should get a red one instead. Then I said "I'll think about it" and stood up and what do you know, they got me one within a week. Exactly the package I wanted, too.

nice. I wrestled back and forth between stormy blue and phantom blue. Then once I decided on phantom, none of the dealers in DC had any on the lot, not even in auto. I told two different dealers who ever found me the car I wanted had my money. They got it in fresh from the docks in baltimore that nite.
congrats, and enjoy!

Performance Pkg=Sport Pkg
I think the noobs are just calling it the wrong name.
Welcome and thanks for the pics. Love Stormy Blue with Sand leather interior. Break it in properly.

They actually have an option in the option list for the RX8 sport MT. Its called the performance package for MT. It adds HIDs, fog lights, and DSC/TC.

Yup, the performance package is pretty much what they used to call the sport package. I guess they changed it when they started refering to the base trim as the sport trim.
I did know when I went to the dealer that there weren't any stormy blues within 150 miles from the Mazda webpage, and they claimed they found it by searching a wider area than they were before, but it seems like that's something they could have easily done before I started walking away.
