New RX8 owner-First mod help

I recently bought a 06 Galaxy Gray Shinka and I love the car. It handles like a dream and puts a smile on my face every time I rev her out. I absolutely got bit by the 8 bug. I know its a slippery slope, but I want to modify the 8 to make it a little more unique. But before I start slapping stuff on the car, I want to know everything about its performances. In my mind, and maybe I'm a little odd, the best first mod is to become a better driver. This leads me to my question.

What is the best way to modify my driving for the 8? I just didn't want to search for driving events before I know what I'm doing, if that makes sense. I have never participated in the events and I just didn't know where to start to learn to become a better driver. Any suggestions would help.

I used the search function for the forum but couldnt find anything about driving skills before the events.

Again, I am a little new at this but any help would be appreciated.
PS. Im located in Allentown Pa, north of Philly

HPDE events with an instructor or performance driving schools in your area are your best bet.

Our Autocross events have a school on the Saturday morning in Ft.Myers and that is only $20 and you get loads of seat time. I don't know your location but get out to an autocross event and talk to people. There are usually Rx8 at the event it not talk to other people with Front engine Rear wheel drive owner (350Z, Miata, Rx7....) for the best tips. Or talk to the fastest guys. The performance schools are great I did one and it has really improved my times. They help you understand the weight shift of the car and how smooth driving is the way to drive fast.

I don't understand why you continue the effort team.

I sware, with the low resale value of our car it's just bringing in the human trash of our society.
...... and I was hoping the rarity would make it only desirable by gear heads
