New rx8 owner......again
Well, went out and done the deed today. After being a former RX8 owner for about four years I am now once again a proud owner. My wife agreed to let me trade her Chevy Cobalt for an RX8 and within three days it was out the door.
The new RX8 is quite the upgrade from the 2004 Base AT RX8 I had back in 2006. The newly purchased one is a red 2005 MT with Navigation, the Appearance Package, 18" wheels, & a 6 disc audio system.... & you may want to sit down for this one........it has only 20,100 miles on it.
The orginal owner purchased it new in April 2006. That means the engine warranty will not expire until April 2014. I am already planning on lots of mods and upgrades. I already have a list that I compiled tonight.
Mods in order of priority.....
-Powder coating the wheels gunmetal w/red striping around outer lip
-New exhaust/midpipe
-New foglights
-Removing Mazda & RX8 badging from front & rear
I priced the powder coating for the wheels the other day & they quoted them at $110.00 per wheel. That sounds high, what do you guys think? I want them powder coated because it's more durable, plus I suck at painting.
The exhaust will be ordered in a few months and installed by a shop. The rest I will do myself.
Good to be back.

That seems like ALOT for powedercoating, it really isnt hard to do it yourself! And it should only cost you at the most $50 to do it if even. Just put notecards between the tire and rim as your guard to make sure you dont paint the tire.
It would be a shame to see you spend a heap of money on painting the stockies.
But anyways, welcome back =]
