NEW!! RX-8 owner
As I said in another thread I just picked up my first RX-8 and am loving it to death. I work at a Mazda dealership as a product specialist and was the first in the dealership to buy one while working there. I can't get enough of it considering my last car was a POINT A to POINT B vehicle that I picked up merely to commute to work.
Sparkling black and ready to be detailed tonight so I can take pictures after work. Hopefully I'll be able to show her off to everybody once I get home to upload pictures.

Going to stay stock with it for the moment as I'm still enjoying it. Though I've already talked with one of the techs in our garage and he's convinced me to do some stuff later. I really want to get a little more rasp out of my exhaust and maybe a few touches here and there.
It's a 2009 Sport model with about 4,600 on it already because I've been driving it when I haven't been at work. Still got my complimentary gas in the tank for another quarter at least. Got a thumbs up from a state trooper as I sped past him by error today. Saw him at the last second but he didn't bother me one bit. Second time I've done it to the poor guy.

Coolness. When I bought mine I told myself that it would stay stock, but like my previous cars, it didn't stay stock very long. I was actually going to turbo mine, and after spending countless days reading and researching on here I started collecting necessary parts. A day before the loan from my bank was to go through I was let go from my job as a Toyota service technician. Didn't see that coming, and neither did the other two guys. Oh well. So now I'm staying NA but still having a lot fun with little mods here and there.

Yeah that's what everybody keeps telling me who has an 8 around here. I do plan on keeping it stock, I'm paying a pretty penny for this baby. I got the AUTO but it's simply because I get stuck in traffic alot. I drive back and forth to NJ and take my vacations down in Georgia. It's not so bad until I get into city areas in both places. However on the way to work it's a constant struggle to drive it how it's supposed to be. The manual shift mode is awesome to play around with on it though.

Well between it being an auto and you getting stuck in traffic quite a bit we'll see how the series 2 renesis holds up. I don't think there's been a engine failure on here yet for the S2 (don't mean to freak you out or anything, I'm sure you're aware of this problem for the S1) but I could be wrong.

I've gotten more then enough people telling me how to treat it even with my commute. Working at a Mazda dealership tends to help with taking proper care of it. My baby isn't going to be doing anything but running like a well-oiled machine. I treat her to a night out every opportunity that I get taking her out on 495 and 95.

Yeah I'd say working at the dealership is one hell of a plus. Well it sounds like you know what you're doing so I'm sure the car will last. After seeing the list of improvments Mazda made for the S2, the car damn well better last!

Welcome! Don't forget to update the 'what was your previous car' thread. Ever curious to see what cars people are coming from

Thanks, I've gotten so much attention in this car. I didn't think it would really get that much attention to be honest. It's like nobody knows what an RX-8 even is or where it comes from when I talk to them. Though I don't mind when a curious girl is asking me questions about it and stroking the hood.

It's funny that you mention that because when I got my car and I was driving around I definitely got some attention not just as a female driver but because these cars are so sexxi.
Oh and luckily I have befriended most of the police. Hope that saves me when I need it...lol

A guy at work asked me what my dream car was and I looked at him like he was dumb. I just bought an RX-8 because I love the way the car is. Not to mention I have never and will never feel handling like the RX-8 is capable of again.

my sunroof was broken. so every time it rained. the water would be dripping on me. then on top of everything i have a gapping hole (rear windshield) that is covered by plastic and secured with duct tape. oh and to make it better my back door is held together by some ghetto fused wire contraption that my dad made......... sad

You should be glad that you have a sexy vehicle, that you don't get rain on your head while driving AND that you have the best handling vehicle on the planet.

I won't let anybody else drive it even if I do trust them. If anything happens to my baby that I didn't do I'll freak. I know what you mean about ramps, I was at 70 on a ramp that told me to go 35 at the max. Didn't even really notice til I was already through to get on the parkway.

Seems like the rule of thumb is speed limit x 2 on ramps for us
Daken, you won't want to take that baby on the track anytime soon and get her dirty, but let me know when you go to Englishtown. I hear NJ Motorsports in south Jersey is even better, gonna check it out maybe this fall.
