New to the rx-8

alright right now im driving a '01 saab 9-5..its alright..but ive had problems..im looking at an '04 rx-8 mainly because im obsessed with the way it looks and the reverse hinge doors..a couple questions i have though..first off i believe it said it had a 1.3 liter engine..i don't really know what that means but someone told me that that was a small engine..i thought this car would be fast by the looks of it but i must be mistaken..also i have been installing stereos for four years now and once again i see a faceplate that is non removable and everything is running off one switchboard..i would like to put in my a head unit, type x speakers and my type r subs like in my saab..is the only way to d othat in an rx-8 with an rca output converter box? thats how i did it in my saab but if you know anything about stereos you lose quality when using the output converter..ultimiate i would like to put in a head unit..but by the odd looking shape of the damn thing it doesn't look possible..am i wrong? or do they make specialty head units for an rx-8?..just a few questions that would be great to gget answered before i make any decisons about my car. thanks

The engine is a rotary so it's very powerful for its size.

You need the corksport dash kit and you can put any HU you want in it.

Drive the car, the speed is there- see DarkBrew's post. Once you've driven it, audio concerns will become inconsequential.
