New RX-8 for '09?

From this article http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...8/newsletter01 in AutoWeek online.

"RX-8: For the 40th anniversary of the rotary engine this fall, Mazda is bringing out a special-edition model. American demand is enough to keep the RX-8 in the lineup with a spring 2009 redesign as a 2010 model, and Mazda swears it will not walk away from its rotary engine."

Zoom, Zoom!

Isn't the specail edition just a new color? I was really hoping the 8 would be retired.

I will be ready for a new Rotary in the spring of '09. Put me down, it will be my 8th.

but we already speculated something like this. It's still a good 3-4 years away.

Till then I'll believe it when I see it.

If it has a turbo I might be interested. I highly doubt I will have my 05 in 09. I'm thinking of moving over to BMW or Lexus......an IS350 with a turbo is what I'd really like to have. To bad the IS350 only comes in an automatic.

That seems pretty lame for a 40th anniversary edition. I hope they actually have something else up their rotary sleeve that we don't know about yet!!

But my purpose for this post was not for the 40th, but for the 2009 intro of a "new" RX-8.

Yeah, if they say it enough times, it's true...

But who's to say the Mazda won't walk away from the RX-8?

Thumbs up

That's great news if a new RX-8 comes out in 2009.

As long as it's under 3100 pounds sign me up
