Smile New Owner - Hi all!!

As my user name suggests, I just parked my Z in the garage and bought a 05 rx8 yesterday. My wife and I had our first child 18 months ago, and I had bought a Scion Tc to cart the kid around in. After the nth time of throwing my back out in contorting myself to get him in the back seat, it was time to get something with 4 doors.

My weekend driver has always been a '92 300z twin turbo, with major upgrades pushing out ~500rwhp. After test driving pretty much all 4 door sedans out there, nothing really seemed to have the zip that I wanted. Then I remembered the rx8 with it's rear suicide doors. Lo and behold, the child seat fits in great, and while it lacks the out and out power of the Z, it's agility definitely makes up for it.

Anyhow, the new beaut is a light silver (cmon, just bought it, I am not into the scene enough yet to know the actual color name ) base 6 speed. Thinking of slowly upgrading her, first with a exhaust/intake, and possibly a turbo/supercharger on down the road.

Anyhow, just thought I would say hi to you all, and introduce myself. See you all around!

A NISSAN MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COOOL!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I got a baby seat in the back of mine when I had to take my X-girlfriends niece around town. I was amazed! But I did realize that all baby seats don't fit in the back (she has like 3 car seats).

Welcome to the board man.

All you need to know about the color is that it's cursed. Silver curse.

Good luck.

It's Sunlight Silver. This is my first choice when I get mine, followed by the gray.

Hell, I'll get a primered one at this point!

Nice, I always liked the 90 series Z car. I just bought an RX-8 myself, the wife said I had to have 4 seats for the two kids and the RX-8 fit the bill. Only 140 easygoing miles on the car now but it is great. Only sour note is that those 140 miles brought the fuel gauge to 1/4 a tank. I'll be tracking the mileage, if I get 16 to 17 city I'll be happy.

But they were a FUN 140 miles. That's what counts!

I Had a 95 300zx before I got my 8 last december. (My 300 was hit and totaled by a drunk driver in my driveway ) May she rest in peace.

They say that the sunlight silver is cursed because something is always happening to that particular color.

^lol...

I think when people with silver read about the so called curse, it causes them to unconsciously believe it. and then WHAM!

Good thing I got out of silver before it was too late.

Congrats on your purchase. Now you have two fun cars.

Yeah, loading my kid into my Integra GSR 2-door was brutal on my back. You made the right move... congrats and welcome!

Welcome and post some pics of both these cars... A twin-turbo 300ZX convertible is a rare car, is it not?

Welcome, your first mod should definitely be the oil cooler and radiator screen and then fluid change.
