Hey fellow rotor heads, just checking in. I'm mostly on rx7club but I just traded my mustang for a 04 RX8. I'll post some pics tomorrow of my rotaries.

hmm on that note do a lot of reading. There are some horror stories but theres two sides to most of it. Some people loose coils at 30K mine are at 65K. Some people loose engines in 50K the previous owner replaced mine at 17K miles and im currently at 79K miles and passed the compression test. There is a lot of reading, and take some of it with a grain of salt. Just like any manufacturer you get bad vehicles, and you get ones that seem to last forever.

Ahh you were the chaplains secretary huh :P What unit were you with? and thank you for your service. There is a military thread for you to put just a little information if you want to.
I was only a navy corpsman for the 4 months i spent with seal team one as a medical attachment. I basically worked the BAS there and went to the field a couple of times. Then it was back into training until I reached my unit where I was a Corpsman of Marines. Only stepped foot on a ship twice, both to transfer vehicles. Never really got to be stationed at a naval base except for bootcamp/corps school and san diego. Spent most of my time in iraq and with the marines.

Thats just how it plays out you know. I joined to be in the medical field and when I passed class 1 swim quals in bootcamp and then passed I guess all the right tests in the right order. I didn't have any mind set or idea to be with recon when I joined but one school after another thats how it played out. Although I didn't know about the whole contract extension involuntarily lol. I had my 4 year contract and when I finished my last school nearly 18 months after I had joined they said "oh yeah by the way your time in schools and training doesn't count" So I signed for 4 years and ended up serving 6 and a half lol. 2 1/2 of it in Iraq (Rawah, Walleed, Trebill, Rutbah, Korean Village, Fallujah (OIF II), and a couple other places.)
It was in no way shape or form what I thought I was signing up for lol.

Never got to see afghanistan or africa. I got to see Germany when I went on a casevac flight with him. I had two weeks leave after that so I went to scotland and germany if that counts lol. Not a deployment but sure was great. Of course the stop in ireland on the way back the first time. The second time we came back though I got to spend my 21st birthday in amsterdam. We had a mechanical problem with the plane and had to do an emergency landing. So we of course had no objections to three days in amsterdam lol.

Mines an 04 GT with very little mods. Seibon TSII Carbon Fiber hoods in the mail and on its way or has been for a couple weeks now but Seibon ran out of them so they were back ordered. Cobb AP. Illuminated Shifter. Footwell Lights, and Red Interior LEDs. I have two sets of tail lights, one is stock flooded out. The second set is completely LED I'm just waiting to get them coated for protection. Hawks HT10 racing brake pads. Red brake calipers. Racing beat front and rear sway bars and end links. Fog lights rewired to run independently. Along with a couple other things I'm currently working on. I have but have not put on stainless steel brake lines and clutch cable with a couple of other components the SCTA requires.
