Sup guys!?

i'm new here, just trying to get some info on the RX-8 since i'm in the market for a new purchase soon.

anyways, what i've been wondering is how many RX-8's Mazda is planning on making each year?? i figure that it wouldn't be very many, due to the styling and everything. But does anyone here have a "for sure" number on the amount of car to be produced yearly?? also i wanna see if there will be any by the end of the year for me to purchase. :D

well since i've read that about 5K of them have already been preordered, it seems like i have a good chance of picking one up by the end of the year, for hardly any (although i better not get any) dealer mark up.

I'm not sure about the preorder #'s overall, but keep in mind that most of those are from diehard rotary nuts :D

I really like this car, but I have not preordered yet - I need to see and feel the car before I get one - so you may be competing with several other thousand people like me for one before the end of the year. And there will be many other casual shoppers picking one up. And I highly doubt they'll get 30,000 units to the states this calendar year. They may get about 10,000 here this year, with the very 1st ones trickling in around June.

They're only going to make about half that this year, however- I read somewhere that the figure was 18,000. But yeah, depending on the demand, you may be able to pick one up for a decent price later in the year.

 

One of the dealers said demand would be very heavy and if I didn't get an order in soon, it maybe next year before I could just walk onto the floor and buy one! As it stands now, he said it looks to be Sept before they may have some as they have pre-sold their allocations for the next 3 months.

meh, i'm sure i can wait till next year to get one. i've already had to wait 2yrs, what's another year.

i currently drive an 01 sport trac, i've been trying to give it to my parents for a while, but they can't handle the payments yet. Hopefully by the end of the year, they'll be able to, and i'll get myself a new RX-8 or WRX.
