New Info on MazdaUSA Site!

Check it out. You can now print a window sticker for the RX-8 you build on the RX-8 site. Here's mine:

Notice:

48 mo/50,000 mile Warranty!

Outside temperature gauge (kinda kewl)

Standard Alarm! (kewl)

Fëakhelek is talking about at the end of building your own RX-8 there is a print your Configuration, and it brings up a window sticker (aka the sticker that is in a new car) and it has some neat info on it. And no I can't explain his picture not working

Sorry about the pic. The Mazda site uses a javascript function to make the page so I couldn't link to it. I set up a web server on my machine and linked to it and the jpg was visible. I assumed that the forum software uploaded it so I shut down the web server. I guess the forum just links to the pic so I would have to keep a server up all of the time. I can't do that. IGOZMZM is right, you have to build an RX-8 and then you will see the link.

P.S. If anybody can tell me how to attach an image without having to link to another server I would really appreciate it.

I started my local server again, and the pic is back. Like I said though, I can't keep it up all of the time. I am going to sleep and will let my machine run (don't hack me, k?). It will be up until about 7:30am. Again, go to www.mazdausa.com/rx8. Then go to "Build and Order" and configure an 8. You should see a link on the summary page. It works if you view a previously saved car too.

P.S. Earlier tonight about 9pm there were links on the word wheels. Something about custom wheels for the 8 but I was not able to follow them. I was not at home at the time and was using a borrowed 56k connection. Now those links are gone so I don't know what they were. Also the word "vehicle" was linked to a site for purchasing cars online. I don't remember the name of the site. That link is also gone. Don't know why Mazda put up links and then took them down a couple of hours later. Anyway, enjoy the Window Sticker as long as it lasts. I have mine saved as a .jpg so if anybody can tell me how to upload it without having to give a http address then I will make if available 24/7.

Later. . .

If it works like others I've heard of, you have to have a key with a "chip" embedded in it. If another key is used like a copied key then the engine won't start.

Thanks for the offer. Since eccles put his up we really don't need mine though. Since all the info is for standard equipment mine will look the same except for color and price. Thanks again.

Whoa! A full tank of gas! Sweet. Don't think I've ever seen that on a window sticker before. LOL.

Seriously, though, one thing we hadn't seen yet: carpeted floor mats. All of the cars we've seen did not have floor mats. I'll be realy curious to see what they look like. I'm glad they're included, and they don't make you buy them separately!

Also, glad to see the hood is aluminium.

Oh yeah, and the tinted windshield with sunshade...does that mean ALL the glass will be tinted, or just the front windshield? Wouldn't it look kind of strange if it was JUST the windshield? Also, what is a sunshade? Is it a darker, tinted strip at the top of the windshield? Or do they mean a fold-out shade for when you park the car?

Unless my eyes are failing me, it says on the interior section, the third one down "Carpeted Floor Mats."

Printout from Eccles

It will be interesting to see how close his final cost is to the 'sticker'!

That's what I was pointing out. This is the first time we are seeing them listed as standard equipment. That is why I said "we hadn't" seen them. Because we had not until now. Now we have seen it. :p
