Welcome to the Forum Formula 420.
After you get your RX-8, remeber these points:
Don't worry about the horse power, it gets you from point a to point b very fast.
The gas mileage isn't really an issue, it uses a lot of fuel or a little it all depends upon how you drive it.
Most have said that it matters not what octane, 87 works as well as 92 and all in between.
Flooding? What flooding? A few have, most haven't. I've even done the dreaded start move and stop and it never flooded.
The stock tires will not drive in snow, know this now and plan for the future.
You are presently stuck with the radio it came with, but there are changes coming out every day.
The accessories are expensive but they will come down eventually, it's that way with every new model of a car.
There are improvement mods available, check out Canzoomer's Stage 1 and soon to come stage 2, also several exhaust systems and cold air intakes.
Love your RX-8, drive it like a banshee or like a Granny, either way you cannot abuse it.
Check your oil every 500 miles or so, it does use a bit, that is normal.
There's little mods to big mods...
Body kits that are still over priced but will drop eventually, also.
Consider getting some clear corner lights, this is by far one of the best looking things to do other than my third brake light RX-8 logo mod. (PM me, I can tell ya how)
Stickers are available for the RX-8 Club through PoLaK along with a few other cool stickers he has.
Ignore the hemi powered pick ups and Dodge Stealth drivers who have something to prove, just drive on and don't give them the benefit of a look.
Show your colors, be proud, we know you will be because we are all just like you, still smiling from each and every time we have gotten behind the wheel of such a beautiful machine we love to call our own.

Welcome to the forum!
but seriously, i'm torn between a 350Z and the RX-8, i've heard alot of people bitching about the 8 bewing overrated for hp and at only 230something that's not cool to start with. the z's rated at 280ish, but we all know hp dosen't make a car, the z is like 7K for redline, and it's a 2 seater, where as the 8 has a killer redline 9K!!! and it's a 4 seater plus it's renesis powered.! geeze .... .decisions.

I fell in love with the '8 the moment I first saw one. I do not have one yet. I have not test drove one because I know that it will be months before I can get one. If I were to test drive one, it would make those months just unbearable.
