New Dealership ????
Hey guys this is my first thread so try not to flame a lot . Anyways i am planning to get an Rx8 soon and before i do so i will be taking a co op course at a mazda dealership in a couple of weeks. Now here is my dilema , i can either work at this old dealership (very beaten up, not very appealing building) in a very crowded area (cars are going 70 Km/h not two feet away from the building) OR i can go to this brand new dealership opening this up coming wednesday (the design of the building is extremely sexy ) . I would of course rather work at the new location even though it is a bit farther away. However i am worried that they will not be selling the older model RX8s. All ive see are the 2009 8s and the 2010 3s on the lots. The basic purpose of me taking this course is to expand my knowledge about cars and also get a good deal on an RX8. Ive been on this forum for quite a while but figured its about time to make an account n start asking questions from you knowledgeable men and women. I alrady quite a bit about the 8 so hopefully ill make a good first impression talking about the rotary
Anyways thanks all your help is greatly appreciated

I rather work at the new location for two reasons.
1. It's new so there's not going to be a lot of people bringing their car in for servicing.
2. It's easier to move up in the company.
Of course, this only applies to the service department.
If you're in sales, go with the old run down one though in the long run, people will start going to the new one since their show room looks a lot nicer.

Thanks for the help Renesis. You brought up some good points. In terms of moving up in the company, not really looking to become manager, just a part time job in the weekends. Now heres the thing :
Work at the new dealrship and hopefully find a usd RX8 somwhere else (do you guys think they could work with the old dealer to get me a good deal if theres one that appeals to me at the old dealer? I mean shouldnt these guys be brothers ?)
OR
work at the old dealer and KNOW FOR SURE ill get hooked up on a used RX8.
but i am worried if i do go with the old dealer that i won't find one that i would conside buying (all its recalls need to be done, mint condition, driven hard, etc...) Then i couldve worked at the new dealer all along Need your opinions guys ?
Thanks alot cheers

the thing is im looking for a SPECIFIC colour and what not. And ive only seen a white used one at the older dealer. So im thinking that if i do go to the older dealer, that i might not even find the right one. Probably gonna work at the new dealer, same chances of finding an Rx8 i guess. Thanks for your input

could always have the dealership go through their computer and try to find you what you want....or u can search the internet and see if u find what u are llooking for....would def be easier and faster than just sitting and waiting for the right one to come in

Correct me if I'm wrong....but isn't working at Mazda period gives you the employee discount no matter what dealership u go to? Let's say I work at Wal-Mart, I can go to a different Wal-Mart and use my employee discount.....If that's the case then work at the new site.......
